Actively Monitored NERC Standards
In this section, find the actively monitored standards for 2012 according to the Texas Reliability Entity, Inc. (Texas RE) Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program (available on the Compliance page). A list of the 2012 Actively Monitored Reliability Standards
is available on the NERC website.
These standards have been selected for inclusion in compliance audits and self-certifications based on risk to the reliability of the bulk-power system. The risk-based criteria include the following:
- Standards with a high Violation Risk Factor
- Standards in the NERC top 10 list of those allegedly violated
- Standards found to have been violated in past events and major reliability issues
- Regional variations of standards
- Cyber security standards (all requirements in Critical Infrastructure Protection [CIP] reliability standards)
In addition, NERC registered entities should be aware that Texas RE may audit compliance to additional standards based on the following:
- Standards that were allegedly violated during an entity’s past performance
- Merger(s) or acquisition(s) that have increased the compliance responsibility of a registered entity
Texas RE recommends that you refer to the 2012 Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program (CMEP) Implementation Plan for the complete set of standards and requirements that are actively monitored.
