The Texas RE NERC Standards Review Subcommittee (NSRS) is a forum for discussion of NERC Standards issues by market participants who operate in the ERCOT Region.  The NSRS is a subcommittee of the Texas RE Regional Standards Committee, focusing on continent-wide standards issues (and activity in other regions) rather than Texas regional standards issues.  The first organizational meeting of the NSRS was held on August 30, 2010, and the group is in the process of determining the specifics of its role and responsibilities.  The information on this page is subject to change as that process moves forward.

The proposed goals of the NSRS are to:

• Increase interest and participation in NERC Standards activities from entities in the ERCOT Region;
• Share information and perspectives on NERC Standards issues among interested entities in the Region;  and
• Provide a mechanism for consideration of Regional issues related to NERC Standards proposals.

The actions of the NSRS may include the following:

• Provide information to the RSC regarding standards activities at NERC and in other regions.
• Produce voting recommendations on NERC ballot items for consideration by Texas RE and other NERC members.
• Collaborate on drafting group comments to be filed in connection with NERC projects.
• Propose new or modified NERC and Regional standards for development.
